Top-tier international law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Los Angeles commercial litigation team. The role involves leading and supporting complex commercial disputes across industries, including contract disputes, business torts, shareholder and partnership matters, antitrust and IP litigation, and cross-border proceedings.

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and executing litigation strategy, managing discovery and trial preparation, drafting briefs and motions, conducting legal research, participating in witness interviews and settlement negotiations, and supervising junior lawyers. The position also focuses on technology-related litigation and regulatory issues, including data protection, platform liability, defamation, AI/privacy compliance, and cross‑jurisdictional coordination with Latin American counsel.

The role offers a Los Angeles-based seat with limited hybrid flexibility (up to one telecommuting day per week) and reporting into the firm’s litigation leadership in the office.

  • J.D. or U.S. equivalent and admission to the California Bar.
  • Approximately 3 years’ post-qualification litigation experience (commercial/business litigation) in U.S. federal and/or state courts.
  • Demonstrated experience on cross-border matters and coordinating strategy across jurisdictions, with knowledge of Latin American data-protection/regulatory developments.
  • Experience advising or representing technology and social media clients on litigation and regulatory issues (platform liability, privacy, AI) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong drafting, research, trial‑ and deposition‑preparation skills; experience supervising junior associates and managing client communications.
