Leading national law firm seeks a mid-level associate for its Investment Management Group in Chicago (flexibility to consider candidates based in New York).

The role focuses on 1940 Act–regulated matters for registered investment companies, including closed-end funds, mutual funds, ETFs and business development companies. You will advise fund sponsors, underwriters and service providers on structuring, offerings, operations, financing and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with transactional colleagues on manager M&A-related 1940 Act issues.

Mid-level associate (class of 2020–2022 or equivalent experience)
Substantive experience with 1940 Act registered funds and business development company work
Prior experience in an investment management practice at a law firm preferred
Admission to practice in Illinois (or ability to obtain) required
Strong academic record and demonstrated transaction/regulatory drafting skills
