Apply in confidence →Join a growing legal services team in Belfast as a negotiator focused on derivatives and other financial markets documentation. This hybrid role supports high-volume transactional workflows and covers negotiation, approval and execution of master trading documents and related ancillary agreements.
The role operates on US hours (typical shifts such as 13:00–21:00 or 14:00–22:00) to align with counterparties and client teams. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across legal, credit, risk and operations, maintain negotiation records in client portals, and help improve process efficiency through legal technology.
There is scope to train and mentor junior negotiators and to contribute to continuous improvement of templates and workflows within a fast-paced team environment.
- 3–4 years' post-qualification experience negotiating financial services agreements, including exposure to ISDA, MSFTA, MRA/MSLA and related annexes.
- Practical knowledge of derivatives, securities lending and repo markets and negotiating with investment banks, asset managers or hedge funds.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills; clear written and oral communication.
- Comfortable working US hours; able to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with legal tech/contract management tools and interest in process improvement; law degree or equivalent preferred.
