Senior partner hire to lead and grow an energy regulatory and environmental practice in the firm’s Toronto office, with matters spanning electricity (including nuclear and small modular reactor projects) and broader energy infrastructure. The role combines regulatory advocacy before energy regulators with environmental litigation and criminal‑defense work arising under environmental statutes.

The team seeks a partner who can bring a portable, sustainable practice and who is comfortable operating in a high‑conflict environment where potential and actual conflicts are carefully managed. The position offers opportunity to shape strategy on major electricity and resource projects across Ontario and Alberta.

  • Established partner-level experience in energy regulatory work and/or environmental law with courtroom or criminal‑defense experience (environmental prosecutions).
  • Practical experience on electricity and nuclear-related matters or demonstrated ability to develop that expertise.
  • Track record of originating/maintaining a portable, sustainable practice or ability to self-sustain a high billable workload.
  • Strong regulatory advocacy and litigation skills; experience before Canadian energy regulators desirable.
  • Admission to a Canadian bar (Ontario preferred) or equivalent eligibility.
