Patent Associate / Patent Agent — Medical Devices, Boston

Growing medical device patent team in Boston seeks a junior to mid-level Patent Associate or Patent Agent to support U.S. and foreign prosecution and client counseling. This is a full-time role on a team that handles matters for a range of company sizes and coordinates with colleagues across a global platform.

The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications for medical technologies, managing prosecution dockets, conducting landscape and freedom-to-operate analyses, and supporting IP due diligence for transactions and investments. Candidates must reside in the Boston office.

• Admission to the U.S. patent bar (required)
• 1–4 years’ law-firm experience in patent prosecution and counseling related to medical technologies
• Technical background in biomedical, mechanical, robotics, electrical/computer engineering, or equivalent discipline
• Experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications and managing complex prosecution dockets
• Experience with patent landscape/FTO analyses and IP due diligence
• Strong academic record, excellent written and oral communication, and client-service orientation
• Admission to the Massachusetts bar or eligibility for admission (for associate candidates)
