Seeking a full-time, fully remote patent attorney to join an alternative-track attorney staffing program at a national law firm. The role focuses on patent preparation and prosecution for software and AI-related technologies for domestic and international clients.

Candidates located near major West Coast or East Coast offices (Seattle, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco) are preferred for occasional in-person meetings, but remote applicants in a range of U.S. states will be considered. The position offers a defined-term contract with potential renewals and a full-time docket and billing expectation.

2+ years patent preparation and prosecution experience in the software arts (e.g., machine learning, cloud networking, cryptography, information security, blockchain)
J.D. and a B.S. in electrical engineering, computer science, or related technical field
Registration to practice before the USPTO
Active bar admission and residency in a U.S. jurisdiction where the firm maintains an office (certain states preferred)
Strong drafting, communication, time-management skills, and ability to manage a large docket independently
