Apply in confidence →Top-tier law firm is seeking an associate to join its patent prosecution team supporting life‑sciences clients. The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications and providing technical and strategic patent counseling across biotechnology areas such as gene editing, cell and gene therapies, antibodies, peptide therapeutics, and molecular diagnostics.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include patent drafting and prosecution, freedom‑to‑operate and patentability analyses, IP due diligence and portfolio management, and working with litigation and licensing teams to provide scientific support. This is an on‑site position in the Boston office (multiple-office hiring geographic footprint noted).

- Ph.D. in biological sciences, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, immunology, or a closely related field (M.S. with substantial industry research experience may be considered)
- Active registration to practice before the USPTO (valid registration number and good standing)
- Admission to a U.S. state bar and in good standing
- Preferably a minimum of 1 year of prior patent prosecution experience (law firm or in‑house) in biotechnology
- Strong background in biotech/biopharma science (e.g., gene editing, antibodies, cell & gene therapies) and excellent written and oral communication skills
