The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications for small‑molecule drug discovery and development and providing portfolio counseling across a range of biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients.
Responsibilities include preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting freedom‑to‑operate and validity analyses, assisting with IP due diligence and portfolio strategy, and collaborating with litigation and licensing teams to provide scientific support. This role is an on‑site position in one of the listed U.S. offices.
- Ph.D. in organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or closely related field (M.S. with substantial industry research experience may be considered).
- Registration to practice before the USPTO (active registration number required) and admission to the applicable state bar in good standing.
- Minimum ~1 year of prior patent prosecution experience in chemistry/pharma (law firm or in‑house) preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in small‑molecule chemistry, strong drafting and analytical skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts into clear legal documents.
- Team oriented, detail focused, and able to handle client interaction and substantive responsibility; submit cover letter, resume, writing sample, and transcripts as part of application.
