Join a nationally recognised construction practice within a wider real estate team, primarily handling contentious matters. The role focuses on construction disputes (adjudication, mediation, TCC, arbitration) while also valuing non-contentious experience drafting and negotiating standard contracts (JCT, NEC4 and bespoke documents).

The successful candidate will manage a driven caseload, lead adjudications and other dispute resolution processes, support colleagues on matter delivery, and help develop client relationships across public and private sector clients active in sectors such as commercial development, housing, education, health, transport and utilities.

This role is based in Birmingham with flexibility to consider Liverpool or Newcastle candidates. You will join a collaborative team with clear financial and quality targets and opportunities to work on high-value, multi-party matters.

Minimum 5 years' PQE in construction law, with strong disputes experience
Proven ability to run adjudications and manage a contentious construction caseload
Knowledge of standard forms (JCT, NEC4) and construction procurement and contract documentation
Strong drafting skills (pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, counsel instructions)
Excellent communication, time management and team-working skills; ability to meet deadlines and targets
