Principal Associate, Non‑Contentious Construction — Birmingham

A leading international law firm is hiring a Principal Associate to join a large, specialist non‑contentious construction & engineering team based in Birmingham (hybrid working). The role focuses on high‑value construction, engineering and infrastructure projects advising developers, investors, public sector bodies, occupiers and contractors across sectoral workstreams.

The team provides market‑leading contract and project advice, working on major regeneration, logistics, commercial, energy, healthcare and infrastructure schemes. This is a hands‑on role running complex matters with scope for fee‑earner supervision, client contact and technical drafting and negotiation.

This is a fixed‑term role (12 months) with access to firm learning resources, hybrid working and standard employee benefits.

• Qualified solicitor with c.6 years PQE.
• Proven non‑contentious construction experience on major projects and regeneration schemes.
• Experience advising on JCT, NEC, FIDIC (and similar forms), development/funding agreements and agreements for lease.
• Strong drafting, commercial judgement, negotiation skills and ability to run matters with limited partner supervision.
• Experience supervising junior fee earners and excellent client‑handling skills.
