Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking an experienced privacy lawyer to join their team in Melbourne on a flexible consulting basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact regulatory matters within a dynamic, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities will include advising on privacy law and regulatory compliance, particularly within the telecommunications sector, and supporting clients through complex regulatory reforms and compliance uplift programs.

Minimum 8 years' PQE with strong experience in privacy law and regulatory compliance
Demonstrated expertise in the Privacy Act, Australian Privacy Principles, and emerging privacy regulatory developments
Experience advising on telecommunications-specific privacy obligations, including protected information requirements and interception/data retention laws
Proven track record supporting regulatory reform and compliance uplift initiatives
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage across legal, risk, and operational teams
Ability to act as a subject matter expert and lead on privacy-related matters
Current Australian practising certificate and right to work in Australia
Security clearance is preferred but not mandatory
