Seeking a mid‑to‑senior level associate to join a busy Private Wealth / Trusts & Estates practice in San Diego. The role is hands‑on and client‑facing, working on sophisticated estate and wealth‑transfer matters for high‑net‑worth individuals and families within a collaborative, national platform.

Responsibilities include drafting and designing complex estate planning documents, advising on transfers of business interests and real estate, and managing trust and estate administrations. The team handles multijurisdictional and occasionally cross‑border planning and expects strong technical tax and drafting skills.

The firm offers a fast‑paced environment with opportunities to supervise and mentor junior attorneys and to work across a broad client base. Applicants should be prepared to submit a resume, transcript, and writing sample as part of the hiring process.

  • 4–8 years of trusts & estates / private wealth experience (mid to senior associate level)
  • Demonstrated experience drafting complex estate planning documents (revocable trusts, ILITs, SLATs, IDGTs, GRATs, etc.) and structuring wealth transfers
  • Experience with transfer issues involving business interests, QSBS, and real estate; familiarity with entity, valuation, succession, and tax considerations
  • Proven ability to manage trust & estate administrations (modifications, decantings, mergers, nonjudicial settlements, terminations)
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and communication skills; experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred but not required
