Apply in confidence →Senior energy lawyer role in a market-leading Energy Projects team, based in Bristol with hybrid work across London. The role focuses on commercial and regulatory advisory work across power, renewables and storage, combining transactional support (M&A, project finance) with cutting‑edge regulatory and market‑design advice.
Key areas include grid connection and use‑of‑system arrangements, offtake and route‑to‑market structures (including corporate PPAs and optimisation/tolling arrangements), and novel revenue stacks for renewables and storage. You will lead complex client matters, coordinate multidisciplinary and cross‑jurisdictional teams, and contribute to business development and team leadership.
The team offers high‑profile work across renewables, storage, hydrogen and other energy transition technologies, with responsibility for supervising and developing junior lawyers and shaping practice know‑how.
- Proven experience advising on energy regulation and commercial/transactional matters at a leading law firm or in‑house at an energy company.
- Strong track record on grid connection/use‑of‑system, offtake agreements (corporate PPAs, private wire, optimisation) and related regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills; ability to translate complex regulation into pragmatic commercial advice.
- Experience leading matter workstreams, supervising junior lawyers and working with multidisciplinary teams; confident in business development and client relationship building.
- Desirable: experience with hydrogen, CCUS, long‑duration storage, behind‑the‑meter structures, heat networks or interconnectors.
