Short-term (1-year) role combining advanced legal research responsibilities with day-to-day management of the firm’s Montréal library. The role reports to the Senior Director of Innovation & Knowledge Management and provides high-quality legislative, regulatory, business and policy research support to lawyers, paralegals and business professionals across practice groups.

Key duties include responding to complex research requests, producing tailored news/regulatory updates, evaluating and integrating AI-enabled research tools, maintaining and promoting the library collection, managing subscriptions and budgets, and supervising a small library team. The role requires regular bilingual (English/French) interaction and content production for Québec matters.

  • Member of the Québec Bar or a graduate degree in librarianship preferred (relevant experience may substitute)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in legal research or a related role; experience in a large law firm or commercial litigation boutique preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with legal research databases and law library operations
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI-enabled research tools and ability to assess their suitability and accuracy
  • Supervisory experience; ability to manage staff and oversee library workflows
  • Strong oral and written communication in English and French
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and client-service skills
