National law firm team seeking a senior associate to join its Compensation & Benefits (ERISA) practice. The role focuses on advising employers and plan sponsors on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare programs across the United States.

Day-to-day work will include ERISA compliance counseling, plan design and administration, drafting plan documents and disclosures, handling compliance testing, preparing IRS and DOL filings, and managing audit and correction matters. Transactional support on benefit issues arising in mergers, acquisitions and other deals is a regular component of the role.

The group values strong analytical ability, superior writing and oral communication skills, and experience with plan-related regulatory and enforcement processes. Experience with ESOP work and ERISA plan asset issues is a plus. The team offers a comprehensive benefits package and hybrid/remote arrangements depending on office and candidate location.

Minimum 6 years of ERISA / employee benefits experience advising on tax-qualified retirement and health & welfare plans
Experience drafting plan documents, participant disclosures and corrective filings
Familiarity with compliance testing, IRS and DOL filings and audits
Experience advising on benefit issues in M&A and other transactions
Strong academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills
