Senior-level associate role in a national Environment, Energy & Resources practice focusing on electric and gas matters at the intersection of digital infrastructure and the energy transition. The attorney will lead complex commercial and regulatory work for developers, utilities and large corporate buyers, including drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements, energy service agreements and interconnection arrangements.

Responsibilities include advising on RTO/ISO market design and participation, representing clients in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proceedings and compliance matters, counseling on federal energy policy and carbon-free procurement strategies, and contributing to business development and thought leadership for the practice group.

The role involves mentoring junior attorneys and managing high-stakes matters with minimal supervision in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • 6+ years of experience in energy law, with substantial experience in electric wholesale markets and power transactions
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating PPAs, energy service agreements and interconnection arrangements
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal Power Act, RTO/ISO market rules and capacity/interconnection policies
  • Experience with FERC proceedings and regulatory compliance
  • JD from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for waiver) to practice in the hiring office jurisdiction
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and mentor junior team members with minimal supervision
