Apply in confidence →Senior Associate opportunity within a well-established Energy & Sustainability team based in London. The team advises across the energy transition spectrum, with particular strength in renewable generation, storage, heat networks, EV infrastructure and large-scale retrofit programmes.
The role involves advising developers, landlords and operators on project documentation and commercial arrangements (including concessions, supply agreements, PPAs/HSAs, utility connections, ICP/IDNO matters), regulatory compliance for electricity and heat networks, and grant-funded or financed decarbonisation programmes.
This is a hands-on role that will work closely with real estate, construction, corporate, banking and tax colleagues; there are opportunities to contribute to sector marketing and to build client relationships within the built-environment energy market.
- Approximately 4 years' post-qualification experience in energy or utilities law (private practice or in-house).
- Experience advising on energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage), heat networks and related regulatory issues.
- Strong technical drafting and negotiation skills; experience with PPAs, heat supply agreements and utility connection arrangements preferred.
- Commercial awareness, ability to prioritise workloads and strong client-facing skills.
- Excellent academic record and demonstrable drive and enthusiasm for the energy transition sector.
