Apply in confidence →Join a national healthcare regulatory team based in Manchester handling regulatory, disciplinary and inquest work for a broad range of healthcare clients, including insurers, medical defence organisations, private providers and professional bodies. The role involves managing a complex, varied caseload and working closely with specialists across related disciplines (clinical liability, data, inquests, CQC matters and criminal defence for healthcare professionals).
The team operates a hybrid pattern (minimum two days in the office) and promotes collaboration across a national practice. Typical assignments include defending professionals and organisations before statutory regulators and in disciplinary and investigative proceedings.
The role carries an expectation of strong fee-earning performance and offers development opportunities within a large, multidisciplinary healthcare group.
- Qualified solicitor with a valid practising certificate (England & Wales) and completion of a training contract or equivalent.
- Approximately 7 years' PQE in healthcare regulation (PQE guidance — all suitable candidates will be considered).
- Proven experience running regulatory and disciplinary matters for healthcare professionals or organisations.
- Experience of inquests, CQC investigations or criminal matters for healthcare clients desirable but not essential.
- Strong drafting, case-management and client-facing skills; able to handle a high-volume, complex caseload and work collaboratively across teams.
