Senior Associate, M&A / Private Equity — Sydney

Join a large, full‑service Australian corporate team recognised for market‑leading M&A and private capital work. The role sits in a busy Private Capital group advising sponsor and corporate clients on buyouts, growth investments, exits, restructurings and cross‑border transactions.

The position offers hands‑on responsibility leading deal workstreams: drafting and negotiating transaction documents, coordinating due diligence, advising on structure and regulatory/completion mechanics, and mentoring junior lawyers. The team uses modern deal‑execution tools and embraces technology to improve efficiency.

This is a Sydney‑based, permanent senior associate role suited to a commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a fast‑paced, deal‑driven environment and wants exposure to high‑value private capital mandates.

• Australian practising certificate with approximately 5+ years post‑admission experience in M&A and/or private capital.
• Proven experience on private equity / private capital transactions (buyouts, growth investments, exits, restructurings).
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills across complex transaction documentation.
• Commercial judgement, ability to manage multiple workstreams, and experience mentoring junior lawyers.
