Senior Associate opportunity in a busy foreign investment/M&A team advising on foreign investment approvals for large onshore and cross-border transactions across sectors such as mining, energy, telecoms, agriculture and defence. You will work on complex matters for major corporates, financial institutions and global investors and be a core member of a high‑performing regulatory practice.

The role involves leading filings and regulatory strategy under Australia’s foreign investment regime, providing commercial advice to deal teams, and supervising and mentoring junior lawyers. Candidates based in Australia or internationally qualified lawyers willing to work from Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne are welcome to apply.

Substantial, hands‑on experience with Australia’s foreign investment regime and related approvals.
Strong analytical, drafting, research and communication skills; commercially focused advice to support transactions.
Proven client service and relationship management abilities; experience working on high‑value, complex matters.
Track record of supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and working collaboratively in teams.
Private practice experience preferred; ability to work from Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne. Must have right to work in Australia or appropriate visa status.
