An opportunity for a Senior or Principal Associate to join a busy real estate team within a corporate restructuring practice in Leeds. The role focuses on distressed and special-situations property transactions, supporting restructurings, accelerated disposals, pre-pack and insolvency-driven sales, and asset realisation work.

You will act for lenders, investors, private equity and corporates on acquisitions and disposals of both distressed and standard property assets and portfolios, and support insolvency practitioners and restructuring teams on property-heavy matters. The role involves managing rapid timetables and complex title, occupation and financing issues, and working closely with banking, corporate and restructuring colleagues to deliver commercial solutions.

The team handles a broad range of sectors including retail, leisure, industrial, residential and development projects; the post offers exposure to multi-disciplinary transactions and opportunities to develop commercial and cross-practice experience.

Substantial real estate experience at senior associate / principal associate level (PQE not specified) with a focus on transactional work.
Experience advising on distressed, insolvency-related or special-situations real estate matters, including disposals and asset realisation.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills (leases, options, sale contracts) and comfort working with lenders/investors and insolvency practitioners.
Commercial mindset, ability to manage tight timetables and complex title/financing issues; collaborative team player across practice groups.
