Senior Associate — Private Equity M&A (Asset Management), Washington, DC

Top-tier corporate team in Washington, DC is seeking a mid‑to‑senior associate to join its Private Equity group with a focus on asset management M&A. The role involves leading and supporting transactional work across fund and sponsor matters, with particular emphasis on GP‑stakes and other asset manager acquisitions.

The team handles a mix of buy‑ and sell‑side M&A, leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity, venture exits, and equity compensation issues. The position requires strong commercial judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage client and outside counsel relationships in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

• Minimum 3 years of private equity / corporate transactional experience.
• Substantive asset management M&A experience required; GP‑stakes experience preferred.
• Broad background in M&A, leveraged recapitalizations, growth equity/venture transactions, and equity compensation.
• Bar admission (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly) in Washington, DC.
• Proactive, business‑oriented mindset with strong written and oral communication skills.
