Senior Associate — Professional Liability (Solicitors’ Defence), Bristol

Opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a market-leading professional & commercial risk team in Bristol, focusing on defending solicitors in disciplinary and related civil claims. The role offers regular client contact, autonomy on matters and the chance to work on complex, high-value litigation including pre-action and High Court work.

You will handle disciplinary proceedings, defence of court claims and related insurer advisory work, draft complex advice on coverage and shape case strategy. The team works collaboratively across practice areas and encourages development of specialist expertise while providing broad exposure to professional liability matters.

• Qualified solicitor with 4+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in professional liability / solicitors’ defence
• Demonstrable experience of professional disciplinary proceedings and defending civil claims against lawyers
• Proven litigation experience (pre-action, court proceedings, High Court exposure desirable) and use of ADR such as mediation
• Strong advisory and drafting skills (including insurer/policy coverage advice) and comfortable managing client relationships
