Apply in confidence →Top-tier international projects team is seeking a Tokyo-based Senior Associate to join its Project Development & Construction group within the Energy, Natural Resources & Infrastructure practice. The role focuses on construction and project development matters across energy and infrastructure transactions, including work on renewables, power and energy-transition projects.
The successful candidate will work on drafting, reviewing and negotiating EPC and other project contracts, revenue agreements (including PPAs and hydrogen/oil & gas sector contracts), concessions and related commercial documentation. The role involves cross-border collaboration, matter management, supervising junior lawyers and contributing to business development within a high-volume project finance environment.
- Qualified lawyer with 2–6.5 years’ PQE.
- Significant experience with EPC/construction contracts and project development, ideally within an energy or project‑finance context.
- Experience advising sponsors preferred; lender, offtaker, government or contractor-side experience also considered.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, commercial awareness and ability to manage matter delivery and supervise junior staff.
