Senior Associate / Special Counsel — Public Sector Litigation, Canberra

Senior Associate or Special Counsel opportunity to join a national dispute resolution team based in Canberra, focused on public law and administrative litigation for Commonwealth clients. The role involves advisory and contested work across public sector matters, including merits and judicial review proceedings.

The team routinely handles matters touching on areas such as agriculture, environment and biosecurity, health, citizenship and migration, code of conduct issues, compensation and liability, privacy and freedom of information. The role offers hybrid and flexible working arrangements and access to firm-wide learning and development programs.

• Minimum of 5 years post-admission experience, with substantial exposure to Commonwealth government or public sector matters.
• Demonstrated experience in public law/administrative law and litigation; privacy and FOI experience advantageous.
• Proven legal drafting and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to run matters confidently, manage competing timelines and work both autonomously and in teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to contributing to practice growth.
