Senior Counsel — Trial & Defense (General Liability), New York

Senior-counsel role on a high-volume general liability defense team in New York. The practice handles complex personal-injury and premises-liability matters, including New York Labor Law, catastrophic injury, hospitality, transportation and negligent-security claims. You will work with domestic and international insurers on latent and active insurance matters.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a docket of matters through all phases of litigation, taking and defending depositions, attending hearings and mediations, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting complex legal research, preparing discovery and handling productions, and developing case strategies. The role also involves client-facing work and oversight of associates and paralegals.

• Admitted to practice in New York; J.D. (class of 2016 or earlier) — 8+ years' litigation experience
• Proven experience taking depositions and managing a civil litigation caseload
• Exceptional legal writing, research (Westlaw/Lexis) and advocacy skills
• Strong client-facing, leadership and case-management abilities; experience supervising junior staff
