Apply in confidence →Experienced financial crime adviser role within a major international law firm’s compliance and advisory function. The post focuses on sanctions, AML/CTF and wider financial crime compliance across the firm’s UK and international operations.
You will develop and maintain the firm’s sanctions compliance programme, advise on complex clearances and regulatory enquiries, deliver training to fee-earners and business services teams, and support monitoring and policy updates in line with evolving sanctions and AML rules.
The role sits within the New Business Intake/Enterprise Risk area and works closely with risk, compliance and business teams to ensure efficient on-boarding, accurate client due diligence and robust beneficial ownership analysis.
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 3–4 years PQE in financial crime, or degree plus 3+ years’ relevant experience in a regulated sector, regulator or law enforcement.
- Knowledge of UK and international sanctions and AML/CTF law and their application; willingness to complete the ICA AML Diploma if not already held.
- Strong research, analytical and client due diligence skills, including beneficial ownership analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, ability to prioritise and work autonomously under deadline pressure.
