Apply in confidence →Highly regarded US practice is seeking a Senior Patent Attorney to join its Intellectual Property & Technology group in Palo Alto. The role focuses on patent prosecution and IP counseling across US and international filings; candidates based elsewhere in the US with the required technical background will be considered.
Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, filing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications, coordinating international patent strategies, and preparing opinions on patentability, non-infringement and invalidity. The role requires both independent case management and collaboration with cross-functional teams on complex software and related technologies.

- Admission to the bar in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
- Registration and good standing before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years' patent practice experience, with substantive work in complex software-related prosecution.
- Proven experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications and preparing patentability/non-infringement/invalidity opinions.
- Strong written and oral communication, sound judgment, ability to manage matters independently, and to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
