The role is a hands-on senior solicitor position working across contentious probate matters including will validity challenges, trust disputes, Inheritance Act claims, proprietary estoppel, professional negligence and contested estate administration. You will manage a varied caseload, attend court and client meetings, and work with counsel and other advisers.
This is a multi-office role with regular activity across regional offices (including Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds). The position offers supervisory responsibility for junior lawyers, opportunities for business development and alignment with other private client and corporate support teams.
- Minimum 5 years PQE or equivalent specialising in contentious probate/ probate litigation
- Proven litigation experience with technical ability handling will and trust disputes
- Experience managing a personal caseload with limited supervision and supervising junior fee-earners
- Ability to handle emotionally charged matters and to work to deadlines and targets
- Willingness to pursue or hold ACTAPS accreditation and to engage in specialist sector events and business development
- Strong legal research, drafting, communication, organisation and IT skills; client-focused and commercially aware
