Apply in confidence →Experienced tax attorney to join a national energy and climate solutions practice focused on project-level tax work for renewable and advanced-energy transactions. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team advising developers, sponsors and investors on tax structuring for project finance, development and commercial deployments.
Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting written tax advice and structuring documents, leading tax equity partnership transactions, inverted lease and sale-leaseback structures, equipment safe-harbor planning, and tax credit transfer work. The role offers frequent client contact and collaboration with corporate, debt and securitization colleagues across the project finance group.
Preferred base is San Francisco; strong candidates in New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, or Seattle will also be considered. The role includes a disclosed salary range and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Approximately 6 years of post-qualification tax transactional experience at a national or large law firm.
- Substantive experience with tax equity partnership transactions, inverted lease and sale-leaseback structures, equipment safe-harbor transactions, and tax credit transfer matters.
- Proven ability to draft written tax advice and manage project-level tax work; experience advising on federal tax credits.
- Industry experience preferred in wind, solar, battery storage, geothermal, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, and/or EV charging; developer/sponsor-side experience ideal (investor-side candidates open to retooling).
