Solicitor / Associate — Clinical Risk (Healthcare) — Manchester

An opportunity to join a large, specialist clinical risk team in Manchester handling a challenging caseload of defendant clinical negligence and professional liability work. The team acts for a range of healthcare sector defendants, including public healthcare bodies, medical defence organisations and insurers.

The role offers hands‑on litigation experience: drafting pleadings and witness statements, preparing schedules, conducting negotiations and mediations, and managing files to client protocols and billing regimes. You will be a day‑to‑day client contact, contribute to knowledge sharing and business development, and help supervise and coach junior fee‑earners.

• Qualified solicitor with experience in defendant clinical negligence; candidates with defendant personal injury or claimant clinical negligence experience will also be considered
• Familiarity with public‑sector healthcare clients and ability to work to client protocols and KPIs
• Strong technical litigation skills, commercial judgment and client‑facing experience
• Ability to supervise junior fee‑earners, contribute to training/knowledge sharing and support business development
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage a varied caseload through an electronic case management system
