Join a nationally recognised police litigation team advising police forces on civil protective orders and operational matters that directly protect vulnerable people. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role where your casework contributes to public safety.

The role is remote-first with in-person hearings primarily in Brighton and occasional travel. You will manage cases end-to-end—drafting applications, preparing bundles, conducting Magistrates’ Court advocacy and providing practical operational advice to police clients.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team that values organisation, clear workflows and professional development. Appointment will be subject to satisfactory police vetting and residency criteria.

  • Qualified Solicitor (NQ–5 PQE).
  • Experience or demonstrable interest in police law, civil protective orders (DVPOs, SPOs, SHPOs) preferred.
  • Court advocacy experience preferred; support available to develop independent advocacy.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload, prepare bundles, maintain diary control and produce accurate documentation under pressure.
  • Strong organisation, self-motivation and commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people; able to meet police vetting/residency requirements.
