Solicitor / Senior Associate, Corporate Tax — Sydney

A leading international law firm is seeking a Corporate Tax Solicitor or Senior Associate to join its Band 1 corporate tax team in Sydney. You will work on complex, transaction‑focused corporate tax matters for national and international clients across sectors including funds, property, energy and infrastructure.

The role involves advising on tax aspects of M&A, restructures, IPOs, capital management and joint ventures, and working closely with tax, corporate and finance teams across Australia and internationally. This position is strictly transaction and advisory focused and does not include tax compliance work.

The team values commercial judgement, technical excellence and collaborative client service. The successful candidate will have opportunities to supervise junior lawyers and contribute to the practice’s growth and cross‑border work.

• Minimum 4 years’ post‑qualification experience in corporate tax, international tax or M&A tax at a top‑tier law firm, major accounting firm or large corporate.
• Unrestricted Australian or New Zealand practising certificate.
• Strong transaction experience (M&A, restructures, IPOs, capital management and related advisory work).
• Excellent academic record; Masters in Taxation or progress towards one highly desirable; please include academic transcripts with your application.
• Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines, supervise junior team members and build client relationships; curious about AI and emerging tech in legal practice.
