Highly regarded law firm seeks a non-partnership track Staff Attorney to join its Intellectual Property group in Washington, DC. This litigation-focused role carries a benefits-eligible status and an expected billable hour target of approximately 1,500 hours per year.

The successful candidate will have experience in patent litigation (invalidity and infringement analysis), support for depositions, drafting expert reports, and handling post‑grant proceedings (e.g., IPRs). Candidates should have a technical STEM degree and the ability to assist with both litigation and patent prosecution matters.

Flexible telecommuting arrangements may be considered from a home office in Washington, DC, Virginia, or Maryland; licensure in the home-jurisdiction is required, and District of Columbia bar admission is expected within one year of hire. The listed salary range for this role is $145,000–$165,000 and the position is benefits-eligible.

  • Jurisdictional licensure required for home office; DC bar admission required within one year
  • Minimum of 3 years' patent litigation experience (invalidity/infringement analyses, deposition prep, expert reports)
  • BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, electrical/computer/mechanical engineering, or physics
  • Experience with post‑grant proceedings (IPRs, EPRs) and patent prosecution support
  • Strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills; USPTO registration preferred
  • Ability to meet an approximate 1,500 billable‑hour expectation
