Supervisor (Solicitor/CILEX) — Property or Motor Recoveries, Birmingham

Experienced litigation lawyer sought to supervise and develop a small team within a recoveries practice, working on either property recoveries or motor recoveries. The role combines case management, technical oversight and direct line management to ensure timely, commercial outcomes for clients.

You will be responsible for running and reviewing files, ensuring compliance and risk issues are identified and escalated, driving financial performance within the sub-team, and supporting recruitment, induction and ongoing technical training of fee earners.

The role suits a qualified solicitor or CILEX lawyer with prior supervision or team‑management experience who can coach, mentor and hold fee earners accountable while maintaining high service and compliance standards.

• Qualified solicitor or CILEX lawyer authorised to conduct litigation
• Previous supervision or direct line management experience of lawyers
• Sufficient technical ability to supervise recoveries matters (property or motor)
• Proven commercial awareness and evidence of achieving personal financial targets
• Strong people management skills — coaching, mentoring and performance management
• Organised, able to manage multiple deadlines and escalate risk/compliance issues
• Confident communicator, orally and in writing
