Experienced tax associate sought for a tax controversy practice in a major New York office. The role focuses on contentious tax matters including international tax and transfer pricing, partnership and high-net-worth client issues, and disputes with tax authorities. Work will involve research, drafting, client interaction, and representation in litigation and administrative proceedings.

Ideal candidates will join collaborative teams on cross-border matters and complex domestic disputes, interacting with in-house tax teams, accounting firms, co-counsel, and government representatives. The position is hybrid with regular in-office presence required.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in tax controversy, transfer pricing, or related tax litigation (law firm, large accounting firm, or government experience such as IRS/DOJ/Tax Court preferred)
  • Admission to practice in the relevant U.S. state
  • Strong legal research and writing skills; experience drafting briefs, motions, and client correspondence
  • Ability to manage complex matters, work collaboratively and independently, and communicate effectively with clients and authorities
  • Cover letter and writing sample required
