Apply in confidence →A national labor and employment practice is seeking a Traditional Labor Law Associate for its San Diego office to handle employer-side labor relations matters. The role focuses on representing management in NLRB and collective-bargaining matters and providing related advice on federal and California workplace law.
Typical responsibilities include handling unfair labor practice charges and NLRB elections, counseling on union organizing and card‑check/neutrality matters, negotiating and advising on collective bargaining agreements, managing grievances, arbitrations and injunctions, and advising on wage & hour, leave and accommodation issues. The position also involves handbook and policy reviews, management training, and occasional due diligence in transactions.
The team offers exposure to both traditional labor litigation and day-to-day advice work; the role may involve regular business travel and hybrid working arrangements.
- JD from ABA‑accredited law school and active CA bar admission
- 4–6 years of experience in labor & employment litigation or counseling
- Demonstrated traditional labor experience (NLRB practice, collective bargaining, grievance/arbitration)
- Experience advising employers on federal and California wage & hour and leave/accommodation issues preferred
- Strong writing, research, organizational and project‑management skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
