Apply in confidence →Seeking a Trust & Estate Planning Special Counsel to join a national law firm’s Madison office as a full-time, non-partner track member of the Estate Planning practice. The role supports the group’s attorneys on estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer work for high-net-worth individuals, families, and charities.
Typical responsibilities include drafting complex estate and business succession documents, preparing charitable giving and tax-sensitive planning instruments, advising on income, gift, estate and generation-skipping tax issues, assisting with probate and trust administration, and preparing federal gift and estate tax filings.
The firm provides a comprehensive benefits package and has posted a salary range for this role. Candidates should be prepared to obtain Wisconsin bar admission on a timely basis as a condition of employment if not already admitted.
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 1–3 years of relevant estate planning/trusts & estates experience
- Working knowledge of estate, trust and federal gift/estate tax concepts; experience with probate and trust administration
- Experience drafting complex estate, business succession, and charitable planning documents
- Strong drafting, communication, organization, and client-service skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and collaborate with attorneys and support staff
