Assistant Managing Attorney — Litigation, Los Angeles

Senior operational role supporting the managing attorney of a major litigation group. You will develop and maintain best practices for electronic filing and calendaring, review court filings for procedural accuracy, provide procedural guidance on motion practice, and oversee day-to-day docketing operations for the Los Angeles office.

The role includes supervising members of the managing attorney’s office, handling electronic and hard-copy filings in federal and California state courts, performing legal research on procedural issues, and keeping litigators informed of rule changes and deadlines. This is a hands-on position that requires close interaction with attorneys, court staff, and administrative teams.

The posted California/New York salary range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 (actual offer will depend on experience and location).

  • J.D. required; California bar admission preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Managing Attorney/Clerk’s Office at a large law firm.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience managing docketing/calendaring staff.
  • Strong familiarity with California state and federal court systems, FRCP and FRAP, and related filing rules.
  • Experience with CM/ECF, state e-filing systems, PACER, and legal research tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
