Assistant Managing Attorney — Litigation, Silicon Valley

Senior litigation operations role supporting the managing attorney in a busy Silicon Valley litigation group. The position focuses on developing and maintaining best practices for electronic filing, calendaring, docket quality control, and procedural compliance across California state and federal courts.

Day-to-day work includes reviewing court filings for form and procedural accuracy, conducting procedural legal research, supervising managing-office staff, handling electronic and paper filings (CM/ECF and California systems), and ensuring timely notification of filing deadlines and court appearances.

  • J.D. required; bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a managing attorney/clerk’s office at a large law firm.
  • Familiarity with California state and federal court systems, FRCP and FRAP; experience with CM/ECF and California e-filing systems.
  • Experience with docketing/calendaring systems, PACER and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, Bloomberg Law).
  • Supervisory experience; strong written and verbal communication skills; highly organized and able to manage competing deadlines.
  • Admission to the California bar preferred.
