Associate — Catastrophic Injury & Large Loss, Birmingham

Join a growing Catastrophic Injury & Large Loss team in Birmingham handling high-value and complex personal injury and indemnity litigation. The role involves working on motor, employers' liability, public liability and indemnity claims for leading insurers and self-insured commercial organisations.

You will support senior colleagues on large-loss matters, develop technical expertise in liability and quantum, and take ownership of a varied caseload. The role offers exposure to complex evidence, court hearings and client-facing work, with opportunities to contribute to business development and mentor more junior lawyers.

• Experience in personal injury litigation (defendant or claimant experience considered).
• Exposure to catastrophic injury or large-loss matters, or transferable experience from a claimant practice.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review medical records and expert evidence.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills (pleadings, reports, client advice).
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Client-focused approach with a commitment to high service standards.
• Willingness to develop technical expertise and take on increasing responsibility, including mentoring junior team members.
