Apply in confidence →We are seeking a contentious construction associate to join a busy London construction & engineering disputes team. The role combines project advisory work on live projects with formal dispute resolution (adjudication, High Court litigation, arbitration and mediation) across a range of sectors.
The team sits within a broader real estate/projects practice and offers early responsibility, client-facing work and opportunities to supervise trainees and paralegals. You will work closely with transactional real estate and projects colleagues and contribute to pitches, training and relationship management.
This is a hands-on role for a specialist contentious construction lawyer who wants to develop their dispute resolution experience on matters spanning building safety, infrastructure, energy and other major sectors.
- Minimum 2+ years PQE in contentious construction and engineering matters.
- Track record in project advisory work and formal dispute resolution (adjudication and High Court litigation experience essential; arbitration/mediation beneficial).
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, delay/extension of time, liquidated damages, defects and related tort/statutory issues.
- Experience of heavy document management, disclosure exercises and bundling/review platforms.
- Proven ability to prepare witness and expert evidence and to manage stakeholders and supervise junior fee-earners.
