Top-tier Chicago corporate team is seeking a mid-level associate with experience on private equity-driven M&A matters. The role involves ownership of transaction workstreams from diligence through closing and providing high-quality client service on complex, time-sensitive deals.

Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and negotiating acquisition and equity documents, managing due diligence and post-closing matters, coordinating cross-functional inputs (tax, finance, benefits, real estate, IP, litigation), and driving deal execution to meet aggressive timelines. The role also includes mentoring junior team members.

JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
4–6 years’ M&A experience, preferably with a private equity focus at a large or sophisticated law firm
Proven ability to run discrete transaction workstreams from inception through closing
Excellent drafting, negotiation and client-facing communication skills
Active Illinois bar membership in good standing
