Top-tier Canadian law practice is seeking an associate with 3–6 years' employment and labour experience to join its Employment & Labour group. The role is open to candidates for either the Toronto or Ottawa office and offers exposure to a broad client base including established companies and high-growth tech startups.

The successful candidate will work on a mixture of advisory and litigation-facing matters across workplace law, collective bargaining and employment-related issues arising in corporate transactions. The team emphasizes practical, commercial advice and collaborative mentorship.

  • 3–6 years' PQE in employment & labour law at a leading law firm
  • Experience advising employers on employment contracts, executive compensation, dismissals/layoffs and wrongful/constructive dismissal claims
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining, union matters, grievance arbitration and labour relations processes
  • Experience supporting employment aspects of corporate transactions and advising emerging/high-growth companies
  • Strong drafting, communication skills and attention to detail
