Apply in confidence →Seeking an associate with 4–6 years' experience to join a Chambers-ranked energy regulatory practice in Washington, D.C. The role sits on a market-leading data center energy team and supports a broad energy regulatory and transactional practice.
Work includes advising on power supply and infrastructure transactions for data centers and other large energy projects; regulatory authorizations and administrative litigation before FERC and state utility commissions; interfacing with regional transmission organizations (RTOs); and providing regulatory support for M&A, project finance, and compliance matters.
The team emphasizes professional development and mentorship. Ideal candidates are comfortable drafting pleadings and briefs, advocating in administrative proceedings, working with experts, and collaborating closely with colleagues and clients in an evolving regulatory environment.
- 4–6 years' post-qualification experience in energy regulatory or transactional matters
- Experience with data center power supply transactions or regulatory proceedings preferred
- Experience before FERC and/or state utility commissions or comparable administrative bodies
- Strong research, drafting and advocacy skills; ability to work with experts and on multi-disciplinary deals
- Collegial team player with interest in practice-building and client-facing work
