Top-tier US law firm seeks a 2–6 year associate to join a Washington, DC team focusing on CFIUS, export controls, sanctions, and government contracts. The role combines regulatory counseling, transactional support for cross-border deals, and related internal investigations.

Successful candidates will work across regulatory agencies and with deal teams to manage inbound and outbound investment reviews, licensing and export-control matters, sanctions compliance, and government-contracting issues. The team handles both advisory matters and support for M&A and structured-investment transactions.

2–6 years post-qualification experience in CFIUS, export controls, sanctions, government contracts, or closely related areas
Strong academic record from an accredited law school
Experience with or demonstrable interest in CFIUS and the outbound investment/security review process (OISP)
Experience or willingness to develop expertise in export controls (BIS, DDTC), sanctions (OFAC), and government-contracting matters
Comfort supporting transactional matters (M&A and structured investments) and conducting internal investigations
Excellent drafting, project management, and client-facing skills
