An established international law firm is expanding its London marine team and seeks an experienced Associate to lead on complex marine insurance matters. The team acts for insurers, P&I clubs, owners, charterers and other market participants on high-value, cross-border disputes.

The role involves managing a broad mix of wet and dry shipping claims (hull, cargo, war, salvage, collision, general average, charterparty, sale/shipbuilding) and insurance-specific work including coverage disputes, subrogation/recovery and reinsurance matters. You will draft and advise on policy wording, run litigation and arbitration matters (notably LMAA), and contribute to business development to strengthen client relationships.

The post is based in London with a hybrid working arrangement and offers the opportunity to develop a market-facing marine insurance practice within a large, multi-jurisdictional team.

Experience in marine insurance litigation at a recognised shipping or insurance practice.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills, including policy wording and pleadings.
Practical experience with court procedures and arbitration (LMAA experience advantageous).
Ability to manage complex cross-border matters and to support business development activities.
