Experienced real estate disputes associate role within a national real estate litigation team based in Manchester. The team acts for public and private sector commercial clients on a wide range of property disputes and works closely with projects, construction and wider real estate groups.

Work will primarily involve commercial landlord & tenant matters (including 1954 Act issues, alienation, break rights and dilapidations), development-related disputes and strategic advice (including rights to light), property contracts, property-related insolvency and other real property disputes such as rights of way, adverse possession and restrictive covenants. There are also opportunities to assist on residential landlord & tenant work.

The role includes client relationship-building focused on the North-West market, proactive participation in business development, and collaborative, firm-wide working. The employer promotes diversity, inclusion and ESG-aligned working practices.

  • 2+ years' post-qualification experience in commercial property dispute resolution
  • Practical experience with landlord & tenant disputes (1954 Act, dilapidations, break/alienation issues), development disputes and rights to light
  • Experience of property-related insolvency and other real property disputes (rights of way, adverse possession, restrictive covenants)
  • Strong technical legal skills, commercial awareness and ability to solve complex legal issues
  • Team player with client-facing experience and ability to prioritise and manage files (Lexcel-compliant file management)
