Apply in confidence →Join a nationally recognised public sector contracts and procurement team as an Associate. This full‑time, permanent role is open to candidates based in the UK, with offices including Manchester and Birmingham and a hybrid working approach.
You will work alongside experienced procurement and commercial lawyers providing advice across the public sector on procurement strategy, tender documentation, contract drafting and lifecycle management. The role offers exposure to high‑profile, framework-driven work and opportunities to develop technical expertise and client-facing skills.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include advising on procurements and contracts for public bodies, supporting procurement litigation, drafting and negotiating procurement documents and framework call‑offs, and contributing to business development and training activities.
- Qualified Solicitor (SRA or equivalent), 2+ years PQE
- Practical experience of UK public procurement law and procedure, including drafting ITTs, specifications and notices
- Experience drafting and managing commercial contracts, frameworks and call‑offs across the contract lifecycle
- Familiarity with tendering procedures (open, restricted, negotiated, competitive dialogue) and procurement portals
- Strong drafting, analytical, communication and time‑management skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic, client‑focussed advice
- Team player comfortable working across multi‑office teams and contributing to business development
