Associate, Trial & Defense — Litigation, New York

We're seeking a litigation associate to join a busy trial and defense team in New York handling complex general liability matters for insurer clients. The practice covers New York Labor Law, premises liability, catastrophic injury, hospitality, transportation and negligent security claims.

The role involves managing a substantial caseload, taking depositions, attending hearings and mediations, preparing pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and developing case strategies through trial preparation. The team works closely with domestic and international insurers and focuses on efficient, client-facing case handling.

• 3-6 years' litigation experience (PQE)
• Experience taking depositions and preparing cases for trial/mediation
• Proven ability to manage a caseload (typically 25–30 matters) and prioritise competing deadlines
• Excellent legal writing, research (Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis) and client communication skills
